About

HI! I’m Kate and I’m in love with all things vintage. My husband, Chris, and I live in a restored 1930s Sears & Roebuck kit house. Yes, the original owner ordered it from the catalog and it was delivered by train. While it has all the modern conveniences of today, it still has the beautiful heart pine floors and a great wrap-around porch.

We have enjoyed filling our house with memories from our trips and all things vintage. We both have our favorites — Chris, his genuine brass banker’s lamp and me, my mid-century starburst clock. I’m a big believer in surrounding yourself with things that make you smile and evoke memories of good times. For each of us, that may look different. That’s what makes collecting so much fun!

I’ve started to share my vintage finds with others who share the same passion. I have a booth at a local vintage market and I have big plans to be able to give you all the first opportunity to buy from me before I take things to my booth. Be on the lookout for more information on this soon!

If I’m not busy with my “real-time” job as a fundraising consultant, you can usually find me at an estate sale, garage sale, or antique mall digging through piles, looking for that forgotten treasure. Every item has a story. Sometimes, you may not be able to learn the personal story behind something, but the company who made the item or the place an item holds in history, may be equally interesting stories.

Through The Vintage Tiger, I hope to not only share my vintage finds, but also the stories behind their makers and their users. Enjoy!
